Piano purchase

When purchasing piano, we should choose piano from three aspects: watching, listening and playing.

01. Look, when choosing a piano, you should carefully check its exterior texture, lacquer decoration, assembly technology, etc. Specifically:

(01) The upper door, the lower door, the top cover, the side board and the healthy plate cover of the outer shell are all made of wood. The high-grade piano is made of logs and synthetic wood. The most frightening thing is the waste board. This kind of piano is often wrapped beautifully by the veneer.

(02) The brighter the paint, the better. For example, cheap mirrors shine brightly. And a good mirror not only shines clearly, but also has a sense of hierarchy. Piano paint should have a certain thickness and durability, reflecting the shadow has a three-dimensional sense. Very bright and "perfect" lacquer decoration, sometimes cheap furniture lacquer decoration.

(03) The fineness of assembly group can reflect the technological level of the piano. The skilled piano shell has compact assembly, smooth lines and even clearance (about 1 mm).

(04) Open the keyboard cover, the keyboard is smooth and the keyhole gap is even; the keys are elastic and feel tight and not loose.

(05) Open the cover, the gaps between hammers are very uniform, the chord ring on the chord pin should be three and a half circles as standard, and the wrapped copper wire on the left chord should be the same height.

(06) Look carefully at the back of the sound board. The external characteristics of high quality sound board are fine lines, uniform color, flat surface and tight assembly.

02. Listening, how to listen and distinguish the sound quality is the most critical link when purchasing a piano. The piano industry is noisy and noisy, and the pitch is often poor due to transportation and other reasons. How to listen? Here are several methods for your reference;

(01) the pronunciation was not long. Don't release the keys after playing the keys. The longer the aftertone, the better.

(02) whether the pronunciation is uniform or not. It's better not to buy a violin with a special bass and a short bass. In addition, the phenomenon that a certain sound is particularly sharp and harsh, and the bass has a "numb sound" is a manifestation of inconsistent pronunciation.

(03) was it full to hear its resonance. The piano with good resonance has smooth pronunciation, no explosion, no murmur, but the piano with poor resonance has hard pronunciation, heavy head and short transmission. Only when you listen carefully and compare when choosing the piano can you buy a satisfactory piano.

03. bullet

(01) flick lightly to feel if the bond reaction is sensitive. The piano with good hand feel is easy to play, flexible and deep; the black and white keys have similar elasticity, and the keys have the feeling of "rebounding fingers".

(02) Pull hard, if there is a key sound explosion, it shows that there is a problem somewhere, especially at the juncture of bass and treble, multi-shot, check the degree of convergence.

(03) If you have a certain piano playing ability, it is better to repeatedly play some arpeggio or broad passages, tremolo, tremolo, etc. on the selected piano to test its feel and timbre.
check pedal. Play the chord, then step on the right pedal, and listen to whether the sound is loud or not. When the pedal is released, the sound will disappear completely without any noise. Especially important is that the keys are pushed while the pedal is being pushed.
